I'm excited to bring you guys something that really made my plunge life easier!
There is no getting around it: you will bring debris into your cold plunge and some will settle to the bottom. Especially since we sit on the floor, it's really nice to have it clean.
I didn't want to choose between an expensive and large electric spa vac, or the clunky and large siphon style systems, with mixed reviews. So, I designed a vacuum to quickly attach to the Danner 1200 GPH or 950 GPH pump inlet.
The hose fitting slips right over the pump inlet, with no tools or modifications. A 5.2" wide vacuum nozzle makes quick work of any small dirt and fuzz in your plunge, directing it through 5 ft of thick wall, food-grade silicone tubing, through your pump and into your filter.
Video showing the operation:
Hand wash in warm soapy water. No hot water. No dishwasher.
Disclaimer: In order to use the vac, your Danner pump must be supplied power. Contacting water with a submerged pump running carries some amount of risk. It is recommended to attach the spa vac hose to a non conductive object, like PVC pipe or a wooden dowel, so that you can guide the nozzle without touching the water. If your house electrical system is well grounded and your pump runs through a functional GFCI outlet, this risk is very low. Always power off the freezer itself. To be sure there is no stray voltage, you can use a product like this: https://www.shockalert.com/
