Customizable Venturi Hookup Options
This system includes a high-flow venturi attachment, giving you flexibility depending on how you want to oxygenate or sanitize your water:
- Ozone Compatible: Add your own ozone generator (such as the recommended JED 003) to inject ozone directly into the water for advanced sanitation.
- Air Injection Only: Skip the ozone and run a simple air hose to the venturi for continuous air injection—great for oxygenating your plunge without additional equipment. (available as an add-on)
- Outlet Diverter Only: Leave the venturi unconnected to use it purely as a directional water outlet.
Multiple Placement Options for Maximum Flexibility
This filtration system is designed to work with virtually any cold plunge setup. You can place the APEX86 system:
- On the Step of Your Freezer: Ideal if you have at least 9.5 inches of water above the step. The filter will face down for optimal function.
- On the Floor of Your Plunge: Perfect for setups without a step or with lower water levels. Place the unit with the filter facing upward. Note: for best venturi performance, keep water depth to around 22 inches or less, as too much depth can reduce venturi injection.

Standard shipping includes $100 insurance, but we strongly recommend selecting the $2.99 fully insured option. This protects the full value of your purchase and offers a faster, photo-based claims process in the rare event of damage during transit.

Filter Maintenance & Replacement
Recommended replacement filters (5-micron) can be found here.
If the venturi stops producing bubbles, it’s likely time to clean or replace the filter. To clean: rinse with water and soak in a mild bleach solution ~3oz bleach inside the housing, topped off with water; for 2 hours. Repeat every 2 weeks to maximize filter life.

Usage Notes
- Hand wash filtration components only with warm, soapy water. Avoid hot water or dishwashers, as high temperatures may damage plastic parts.
- Safety first: Always unplug the pump, freezer, and any connected devices before entering the water.
- Never run the pump dry. It must always be submerged in water to prevent damage not covered by warranty.
- For countries using 220V–240V power, a step-down transformer rated for at least 200W or 3 amps is required.

So glad I did my research! I love my new filter system. It was simple to put together. The video was very helpful. It keeps the water moving and does a great job in filtering out debris. Don’t laugh, but it’s so great that I find myself walking out between plunges to look at it and putting my hand in the water to feel the power of the pump. It’s just such a game changer. I have been plunging since early 2024. I was always having to change the water. It would become stagnant and really gross in a matter of weeks. Not anymore. Been a couple of weeks and still crystal clear. I use peroxide along with the filter. If you are on the fence just take the plunge and get it.

Fantastic and easy set up. Started with the marine pump and wish I would have just started with this from the beginning. Absolutely worth it.
Been running the apex86 system for over a year now, and it’s kept my water clean for months at a time. I like the attention to detail. With the pre-filter, the Venturi fitting for mixing the ozone. And the cool vaccuum add on, for cleaning the particles on the floor of my plunge. I believe this is the best solution for plunges. The pump has been reliable, and easy to change out the filters. Lars has taken every detail into consideration. I will always recommend this system to anyone getting into building or setting up a plunge. 6 stars if I could give it.
